About me
I was born and brought up in Indore, a town in Central India. And so could get opportunity to attend only one school during my 12 years of schooling. Both my parents used to teach in the same school. Academically I was good and was an active participant in various cultural activities, and thus was a popular student among the teachers. Throughout my schooling I was the topper of my class. But the most satisfying achievement that I had was securing 244t Rank in IIT-JEE, 1999. However, what gave me more fame was my 8th rank in MP-PET (Madhya Pradesh, Pre-Engineering Test).
Life @IITB
I joined Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay in 1999. The fours year at IITB were the most memorable years of my life. So much of fun and learning, and a totally new perspective of life. IITB has a beautiful campus with lots and lots of greenery. There are so many things to do within the campus - from research labs to playing grounds at Student Activity Center (SAC), from Entrepreneur cell to the hostel elections, and from late night assignments to night outs for a dramatics event. These colorful years ended for me in May, 2003, after which I joined Tejas Networks, Bangalore. In between I had a two month stint at National University of Singapore for my summer internship. That was quite a different kind of experience, working in a new university and a different country.
Now at Tejas
Its been more than three years that I am in Tejas Networks. As an individual and professional, I have learned a lot here. I have been part of two teams here. For the first one and a half years, I was working in a group called PNCP (Point N Click Provisioning). Eventually that group got dissolved into the NMS (Network Management Software) team, and I moved into Datapath Team. This is one of the crucial teams in the embedded software group. It looks after data traffic and protection switching related features. Last year I got promoted to Senior R & D Engineer.
Apart from work, I have been going for Marshall Art classes. In between I learned Guitar also for a few months, but could not develop that interest in it. I have been the Captain of my office cricket team for the last two seasons, and hope to lead the team in this season also. My record in captaincy has been excellent. Just 1 loss and around 20-22 wins!
